11. Our television itself isn't connected to the internet, an antenna, cable box, or anything else.

All it sees is HDMI-1. That never changes.

There's nothing in the television itself to go obsolete. It's just a not-smart television monitor with one input. We don't use the remote control it came with because most of those buttons are useless to us.

HDMI-1 can be anything we choose through the external switch.

It might be an Amazon Fire Stick, Chromecast dongle, Roku, DVD player, VCR, a laptop... no limits.
