1. Great film with a terrific Burt Bacharach score!

Somewhere, I have the published screenplay that I bought when the film was released. On the frontispiece, the writer, William Goldman wrote, "Not that it matters but most of what follows is true." What an awesome statement!

I love the scene in South America when they decide to "go straight" and work for the payroll for a mine. Butch and Sundance are all nervous about where the bandits may be lying in wait until their boss reminds them that they haven't got the payroll money yet! Hilarious.

The chemistry between Redford and Newman is spectacular and when they worked together on "The Sting" I hoped they would make another film together. It was only a few years after the first film. Unfortunately, it's another of my many hopes that have been dashed!
