        The question is how to do that most efficiently.
It has to be cool or hip to be "in the know".
There needs to be a perspective that 
provides a framework within which
the nested social and political problems 
can be observed.
Once people are "oriented" and gain
sufficient "situational awareness" 
the appropriate action becomes clearer.
Their actual self interest is apparent 
in contrast to their ideological beliefs.
Your point about impoverished people
essentially voting against their self-interest
can be could be resolved by putting the 
individual in the position to make an informed
rather than irrational, self-defeating choice.
