4. Agents provocateur

An "agent provocateur" is someone who intentionally incites or provokes others, often into illegal or provocative actions, typically to expose or discredit them, or to create chaos.

I don’t believe anybody thinks this kind of behavior will result in achieving their goals. So there has to be something else going on. Tearing down the Republic seems a more likely goal than achieving peace and justice for Gaza. Doing the former ensures that the latter can’t happen. It also earns my enmity. Which may be the point.
