of a crime. I don't know if they still do or not, but shouldn't it be rule #1 to make sure than anyone running for government office... especially for POTUS, especially, should NOT have a criminal record? I guess it's not, considering how many convicted crooks we have in office right now, led by the ultimate con artist, DJT.

Once we take the reins of this country once again, this is just ONE of the things that we're going to have to change. How we can do that when the constitution says there are no tests, etc., to running for office? If we have to go through Amendments and/or changes to Amendments, that'll take decades. But one of the highest requirements for POTUS *ought* to be a clean criminal record and a person of good moral character (although that last would be hard to prove or disprove for most people.. it's so subjective). But we need a way to ensure that no sadist like trump can ever run to represent our country again. That's if we *have* a country once we can get trump moved out of the WH. Just my opinion. YMMV, of course.
