Chronic Venous Insufficiency (CVI) is a long-term condition where the veins in your legs cant efficiently return blood back to the heart. It happens when the valves in the leg veins become weak or damaged, allowing blood to pool in the legs instead of flowing upward.
What causes it?
Damaged valves inside the leg veins (often due to aging or blood clots)
Varicose veins
Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) a past or current blood clot in a deep vein
Obesity
Prolonged standing or sitting
