Seriously though, I have seen some of the recent opinion polling and nonsense about how the general public views the Democratic Party as WORSE than Trump and the GOP (I know, I should consider the sources and avoid anti-social media like the plague)...and I have seen clips of the right wing "influencers" and their hysterionics about "woke" and "trans" and "libs" and all of it boils down to the same thing - Trump gave the crazies EXACTLY what they wanted - validation and permission to be vile in the open and free of condemnation (temporarily).
These people that make up "MAGA" - about 23-25% of the total population - are exactly what Hillary Clinton dubbed them in 2016, a basket of deplorables. When this national nightmare ends - whether in an election or a second Civil War - reconstruction this time around needs to end the undercurrent of racism and phobias and fundamentalist religion that has coursed through the nation's veins since 1776 and earlier. I no longer believe that we can 'fix' the damage at this point. The SCOTUS, gerrymandering, and money buying law is too far gone and the hate too free flowing to simply turn it off. What is going to have to happen is the founding and adoption of a second American Republic, complete with a new Constitution and restructured guard rails and enforced laws.

Women's rights, Minority rights (ALL flavors of racial, sexual, gender, origin, etc.) are HUMAN rights and no laws shall deny women control of their bodies, minorities representation or voting rights, or any class of citizens to be marginalized or oppressed by the whims of the state or local governance.
Immigration without a system of prompt adjudication of asylum requests or a pathway to citizenship (instead of interdiction only) is amoral and should be FIXED. I.C.E. agents should have to show cause to be allowed to return to any government positions in the future and leadership that acquiesced to Trump's hideous use of the military shoul likewise be ineligible for future positions as former enemy combatants to the United States Constitution and in violation of their oaths to the same.
Supreme Court justices should be term bound and NOT lifetime appointees. Starting with the reformed Constitution, justices shall be limited to a single 10-year term on the bench, additionally, the court shall be permanently construed as having 13 members drawn from the 12 circuit courts of appeals and the federal court of appeals representative serving as the Chief Justice. Any justice found to have been in ethics or criminal corruption would be impeached and removed upon conviction of a majority in the Senate. At the end of a Supreme Court 10-year term, the courts would promote from within independently of the Executive branch or the Legislative branch. The Judicial Branch of the government shall be freed from the influence of the other branches and the terms of service will prevent efforts to stack the bench with partisans surrepitiously.
Presidential pardons must be restricted and self-pardoning is in and of itself and illegal act. Presidents will be restricted from self-pardoning and from pardoning partisans for actions at the behest of the President. Illegal acts will bear the consequences of any other citizen, and pardons shall be phased out entirely for those convicted in a court of law and sentenced by a court appointed authority bench judge or jury,
Amendments to the reformed Constitution (based on the strengths of the original but freed of it most odious inclusions) must be practical and realistic. A Constitution that cannot be effectively ammended is not worth the pulp it is printed on.
Land does NOT vote and apportioning of Congressional seats and districts MUST be impartially and scientifically drawn to ensure every citizen receives equal representation in BOTH the House AND the Senate .
The Electoral College shall be eliminated.
States failing to ratify the reformed Consitution will be given 90 days to forfeit any and all military bases, equipment or arms that beong to the people of the United States, after which they will be expelled from the union and forfeit all future rights and privelges afforded to the several states of the union.
