17. Growing up in Texas I never knew my So. Baptist minister grandfather. My father refused baptism by immersion when he was

a kid and was allowed to stay in the house until he graduated from high school. Then OUT!

As a result, daddy was completely averse to religion as was my mother (for a different reason).

So I was never baptized. I did have one friend in Jr. High who came for a sleepover and was horrified to hear I wasn't baptized. She offered to do it for me over the bathroom sink, but I declined since I was afraid my mother would walk in and catch me mid-baptized.

My husband was a Congregationlist, now converted to Judaism. His daughter is a rabbi.
