(5,920 posts)49. That's exactly my point
Hes a great governor, Im sure, and I like what hes said, the FEW times Ive seen him. My point is I think he lacks that certain carisma that both Clinton and Obama had.
Maybe has those qualities and I just haven't seen it yet, but that's why we have a primary campaign to make the case before the people. If he decides to run, Ill certainly listen with an open mind, but at THIS point in time, I don't think he's electable on the national stage.

OP
My opinion also. Rep. Crockett, AOC and Rep. Raskin probably need to get to the Senate IMO first...

Beshear maybe. Crockett no. I absolutely love her, but it doesn't feel like the right time.

I love her but it is a no from me. We need a seasoned person. She is great but it is a no for me.

I think Harris would have made an exceptional POTUS. It's a shame so many American voters are idiots.

Kentuckian here. We love Andy Beshear! I don't sense that he's a great national figure, personality-wise, but we'll see.

How is a 2-term governor...the most popular Democratic governor in the nation not ready

Yes, the same as Bill Clinton. It's ludicrous for someone to say he's not ready to be president.

We'll have to see how ALL candidates handle a primary. Pritzer and Newsom haven't had a primary either.

He preaches against Trump everyday, but he doesn't have Chicago or LA media markets to help

I think she would be hard pressed to say no, but I think her talents would be much better utilized

Beshear wouldn't even win Kentucky and Crocket would make sure we lose 46 states

Actually, I think he could win Kentucky. He's that popular here. I think Kentucky would be a battleground state.

There are so many great Democrats - but my preference is a robust primary and I make my decision on the policies

You are quite right. At this early stage, this exercise is more of a party game than a serious discussion.
