7. did more digging... here's the breakdown...

California Farm workers are organizing this, and using a petition online to also gain traction, here's the Instagram post copied:

LULAC (League of United Latin American Citizens) is not organizing the strike

But activists behind the movement are linking to LULAC’s petition because it asks for the same demands the strike is pushing for like protections for undocumented essential workers and immediate pathways to citizenship

So what IS the petition?

It’s called “Protect Essential Workers” and it’s on LULAC’s official site
When you sign it, your info gets sent to Congress asking them to legalize essential workers including farmworkers who’ve held this country up through pandemics, fires, heat waves, and more. They’ve earned their dignity, protection, and peace of mind

This is a strategic move. Activists are using a credible petition from an established org to give people a real action step. Doesn’t mean LULAC is behind the strike. But it does mean this movement is smart, organized, and pushing the right buttons

But here’s the question a lot of people are too nervous to ask out loud
Is it actually real if there’s no date and it’s all “TBD”?

And here’s a fact that doesn’t get shared enough

🔹 About 73 percent of farmworkers in the U.S. are immigrants
🔹 Roughly half are undocumented
🔹 These are the people planting, picking, packing, and processing the food you eat
🔹 They do backbreaking work in extreme heat for poverty wages
🔹 And during COVID, they were called essential while being denied basic protections
(Source: USDA Economic Research Service, National Agricultural Workers Survey)

So yes, this is real
And long overdue

But here’s why some people are unsure
There’s no set strike date. Just “within 48 hours’ notice”
No confirmed union support like UFW or CIW yet
No official press releases, websites, or public safety plans
Nothing in the news cycle from major outlets

So here’s the truth

It’s real in the way a storm on the horizon is real
The clouds are forming. The pressure is building. People are watching
It’s not fake
But it’s not fully formed

It’s a movement in motion
And sometimes that’s the most powerful place to be
If enough people take it seriously, it becomes real

LINK IN BIO FOR PETITION,
Will share more about strike when more info. Stay tuned.

A national farmworker strike is coming.
It’s called Huelga Para La Dignidad—and it’s not just about labor. It’s about survival.
Farmworkers are demanding immediate citizenship, an end to raids and deportations, and protections for all undocumented essential workers.

California produces most of the nation’s fruit, vegetables, nuts, and wine.
Without labor, there is no harvest. Without justice, there will be no silence.

📢 Don’t wait until it’s too late.
🍎 Don’t buy produce during the strike.

I don't think so. Lots of Ag jobs in some states are already being done by prison labor. haele Jul 7 #9

A better solution that is more economic and humane. Make the migrants citizens. Allow them to work and pay taxes. Ping Tung Jul 7 #12
