in the prize's home country. Norway's largest newspaper, Aftenposten, just published an opinion piece stating that the committee would have to be insane to award it to him.
Peace Prize for Trump? Donald Trump has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize by Benjamin Netanyahu. It is hard to imagine a greater breach with the values of the prize.
According to the former secretary of the Nobel Committee, Geir Lundestad, Obama received the Peace Prize because he "stood for all the ideals the Nobel Committee had worked hard for over many decades: a better organized world with an emphasis on the UN and multilateral diplomacy, dialogue and negotiations in almost all situations, the vision of a world without nuclear weapons, strengthening democracy and human rights; a new climate policy."
From the first Peace Prize in 1901 until today, the prize has rewarded work for international cooperation, free trade, disarmament and brotherhood between peoples... Trump has abandoned almost all of the ideals mentioned above. He has refused to recognize a democratic election and inspired supporters to commit coups..... [the authors list Trump's various sins against peace and humanity]
Trump has threatened NATO allies, Canada and Denmark. He is against free trade and uses tariffs as a political tool to pressure other countries to impose his will. The international order has largely been replaced by "might is right."...
The Nobel Committee has received an absurd nomination this summer. Accused of genocide, Benjamin Netanyahu has nominated his accomplice, Donald Trump, for the Nobel Peace Prize. A mental breakdown of the committee is needed for Trump to fulfill his dream of being named Prince of Peace.

OP
He's doing a fairly decent job of pre-trashing..."only awarded to liberals". When he's not

That was the most controversial award ever, and ultimately it was so embarrassing for the Nobel Committee

The controversy over the 1973 award wasn't necessarily just because it was given to Kissinger;

It isn't so much the transparent desire, it is the refusal to do ANYTHING worthy

The committee that awarded the prize to Jimmy Carter, Al Gore and Barack Obama is not going to award one to him

If they should EVER award Trump a Nobel Peace Prize that would taint every previous recipents award.
