If he had an embolism - which is a reasonable possibility - he might have started feeling sick and reached out to somebody. That somebody - maybe his niece - might have said she was calling 911 and told him to unlock the front door.

Maybe he never made it to the door.

Edited to add: the only thing odd to me about this story is Kash Patel saying the FBI is involved. THAT is weird. But Kash is always taking to social media to promote himself.
