In reply to the discussion: Trump-Hating Podcast Rockets Past Rogan With Nearly Double the Downloads [View all]BumRushDaShow
(165,068 posts)21. There are whole swaths of people who consume NO "political news"
but are fans of click-bait stuff. So if you get them with the click-bait, then they might be able to consume some of our messaging.
WE who are fine with what they consider "boring messaging that seems to drone on with too many SAT words, bullet points " (and what is derisively declared as "elitist" language) understand the purpose, but "the masses" tune that stuff out and that is what we DON'T want. Have to "package" our messaging in a manner that the rest of the populace is used to.
I got sick and tired of seeing link headline after link headline on so-called "news sites" that would say bullshit like -
"Can Trump really destroy the moon? It's complicated".
The overuse of the phrase - "It's complicated" - has sent me off a cliff because it accepts the FALSE premise and then tries to explain it in the article, regurgitating the ridiculous assertion, and eventually (maybe) telling the truth at the very end of the article.

OP
I am not much of a Rogan fan but has he had any comment now that Trump is in office?

I NEVER understood why Dems/Progressive/Liberals EVER listened to Rogan, but now...?

Hey you don't gotta buy anything. I've just been tied in to the podcast scene for ages.

Then I must ask, why are you here if you have such contempt for liberals, Dems, progressives?

I'd rather you stop ascribing false motives. Sharing an anecdote or a statement of fact is not "Contempt".

You cited those statements as your reason for believing/defending Rogan's turn on the "left" and embrace

They were two unrelated anecdotes, I'm sorry if that wasn't made abundantly clear.

If I hold a gun to your head and say "Vote Republican" and you do so, are you at fault?

I've expressed contempt for far-left fringe extremists who threaten political violence, yes. I'll own that. Proudly.

You're seeing it already. See Meidas Touch, who have surpassed Rogan. Glad we agree n/t

I agree with you about the "Self Serving" part, but in the end, everyone is.

No, has nothing to do with "Both Sides", just that extremists harm both extremist and centerist platforms within a party

Please, I'm plenty used to crazy. I'm a Democrat. That's just the norm. :P n/t

Put simply, I'm more centerist. The far left, by definition, isn't.

Who said anything about "in US Politics"? It's the casual ground-level self-serving extremists that're the problem.

Medias Touch uses far too hyperbolic subject lines... At some point 1000 claimed Trump "meltdowns"..

ME TOO! Is it a generational thing? I can read in seconds or a few minutes what they take an hour or more to convey.
