I’m sure some newspapers got their rocks off thinking they could choose winners with their endorsements. And over the years, there’s no telling what candidates were willing to “pay” to be endorsed by the big papers.

With papers’ waning influence, why do something that really doesnt matter and will likely alienate a large group of your readers, many of who are just looking for a reason to cancel.
