- warts and all.

Texas is not one big homogenized red state. We have bat shit crazy lefties, fascist righties and everyone in between including moderate Republicans and conservative Democrats.

Do I like the political decisions my family and neighbors make? No I do not. I cannot for the life of me understand why so many vote against their own self interests but that is their right.

I travel the back roads of this beautiful state a lot. I see the dying towns. Towns that lack schools, grocery stores and gas stations. Towns where more than 50% of the population are widows over the age of 65. I also see dying towns where no Democrat before Beto had ever visited to talk to Texans about their vision for the future. I see uncontested races by the dozens in this state. I see young Republican candidates for school boards, county commissioners, mayors, etc. but very few Democrats.

I see FAFO moments happening in my own family. You know what each of them says? “I never thought this would happen to me.”

No place is perfect - including New Mexico. All we can do is listen more, work harder, and pray - a lot.

Love and light

Rose
